New prospects for INTRAKAT following its classification in the upper 7th grade of the register of contractors enterprises of the Hellenic Ministry for the environment, physical  planning & public works

Peania, February 17, 2009 – INTRAKAT, Group INTRACOM constructions arm, is evolving into a major leader in the sector, ready to successfully meet the challenges ahead.
In October of 2008, the Company, within the scope of the implementation of its strategic plan, proceeded and successfully completed the share capital increase and following this proceeded to the acquisition via undertaking of the State and Private Construction Works sector of CYBARCO SA, and T. KARAGIANNIS SA, which resulted to the upgrading of the Company’s Construction Projects classification under the upper (7th) grade of the Register of Contractors’ Enterprises.
INTRAKAT’s competitive edge includes its substantial expertise and knowhow in the fields of broadband networks, complex building and infrastructure works, natural gas and bespoke steel construction projects, which in conjunction with the upper 7th grade classification compile an additional boost of its activity.
In order to face the intense international competition and the current adverse financial conditions, INTRAKAT’s new business plan is focusing on enhancing group turnover while increasing operating earnings based on its core pillars, which are:

  • to build new projects by exploiting the opportunities from the new classification (7th)
  • to participate in self-financed and Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects
  • to boost the activity in the areas of expertise such as: fiber optics networks, bespoke steel constructions and natural gas project
  • to develop international activity by establishing new strategic joint ventures
  • to expand activity in the real estate sector both in Greece and abroad
  • to grow in the energy sector and in specific in waste to energy (WTE) and solar energy projects.

It is noteworthy that the company’s backlog of projects amounts to 330 million Euros while FY 2008 turnover is expected to exceed 180 million Euros.

Regarding INTRAKAT
INTRAKAT was founded in 1987 and belongs to INTRACOM HOLDINGS GROUP of companies. The company holds a 7th degree contractor license from the Register of Contractor Companies, and as of November 2001 it listed on the Athens Stock Exchange. In 2005 INTRAKAT merged by absorption with Intramet (steel structure company). INTRAKAT has extensive experience and advanced know-how in the fields of constructions of technical projects, steel structure and telecommunication infrastructure projects.
