History
INTRACOM CONSTRUCTIONS, a member of the INTRACOM group of companies, was founded in 1987, following a 10-year period during which INTRACOM (founded in the 70's) gained considerable experience in the implementation of complex construction projects, especially in the energy sector.
During the late 80's, INTRACOM CONSTRUCTIONS participated in the implementation of energy-related projects for the Public Power Corporation, including the construction of high-voltage substations and the installation of electrical and automation equipment for thermoelectric power plants and lignite excavator conveyor belts.
1992 Establishment of INTRAKAT
INTRACOM expanded its production of telecommunication equipment that was subsequently installed in cooperation with INTRAKAT, a subsidiary construction company established in 1992, which undertook major telecommunication projects, including::
- The Athens Telecommunications Network ,
- Installation of digital switching and transmission systems,
- Cardphone networks ,
- Conventional cable urban network expansions ,
- Fiber optics cable networks.
1994 - Merger with INTRAKAT
In 1994, INTRACOM' s management, determined to create a strong construction company able to undertake a wide range of projects, merged INTRACOM CONSTRUCTION with INTRAKAT, which had already gained considerable experience in telecommunication projects.
The company that resulted from this merger was highly experienced in both telecommunication and energy-related construction projects. Having expanded its scope to include different types of construction, such as civil works, INTRAKAT undertook and implemented a large number of complex and demanding projects, including:
- Development of complex building construction projects
- Construction of mobile network infrastructure for Vodafon/Panafon and Cosmote
- Fiber optics cable installation
- Structured cabling networks for major clients (Universities, Hospitals)
- Telecommunication and signaling networks for the Hellenic Railway Organization
Based on its long experience and extensive know how, gained from the implementation of complex civil works and electromechanical projects, INTRAKAT secured its participation in major infrastructure projects, including the construction of modern sports facilities for the Olympic Games.
1997 ISO 9002 Quality Assurance Certification
The company was ISO 9002 certified by BVQI.
1999 - 6th Class Certificate
In November 1999, INTRAKAT received the 6th Class contractor's certificate.
Participation in ALPHA GRISIN-INFOTEC
The company acquired a 15,11% equity stake in ALPHA GRISIN-INFOTEC.
2001 - Athens Stock Exchange
In November 2001 INTRAKAT was listed in the Athens Stock Exchange.
Establishment of INTRALBAN SHA
On July 19, 2001, the company established its INTRALBAN SHA subsidiary in Albania, in which it holds a 40% equity stake.
2002 Acquisition of M-P Techniki SA
In early 2002 the company acquired M-P Techniki SA that held an E Class contractor's certificate in order to be classified under the new 6th class in the Register of Contractor companies, out of a total of seven (7) classes provided for by the new legislation.
Participation in INTRACOM BULGARIA AD
The company acquired a 30% equity stake in INTRACOM BULGARIA AD.
2003 - Participation in INTRACOM Ltd Skopje
The company acquired a 30% equity stake in INTRACOM Ltd Skopje.
6th Class Certification
Classification of the company under the 6th class of the Register of Contractor Companies after the reassessment of Construction companies according to L.2940/2001.
2004 - Establishment of IN.MAINT
In February 2004, the company established its IN.MAINT subsidiary, in which it holds a 60% equity stake.
ISO 9001:2000 Quality Assurance Certification
The Company was re-evaluated by BVQI on 10/12/2003 to the International Standard ISO 9001:2000. The Quality Assurance Certification was issued on 5/2/2004.
2005 - Establishment of INTRAKAT ROMANIA SRL
In January 2005 the limited liability company INTRAKAT ROMANIA SRL is established in Romania.
Establishment of EUROKAT
In March 2005 INTRAKAT established the company EUROKAT (holder of a 3rd class Contractor's certificate in the Register of Contractor companies) to which it participates with a 82% holding.
Establishment of INTRAKAT branches in Armenia, Libya and Kosovo
In 2005 INTRAKAT established branches in Armenia, Libya and Kosovo within the framework of developing and expanding its construction activities abroad.
Merger between INTRAKAT and INTRAMET
In December 2005 the merger with absorption of the steel constructions company INTRAMET by INTRAKAT was completed.
2006 - Establishment of an INTRAKAT branch in Romania
In May 2006, INTRAKAT established a branch in Romania.
